Full Day Peninsula Tour
A full loop of the Cape Peninsula — Hout Bay harbour, the seals of Seal Island, Cape Point, Simon’s Town, the penguins and the beach huts at Muizenberg.
The peninsula is a narrow finger of mountain running thirty miles into the sea, and the only honest way to see it is to go all the way round. This tour does exactly that — down the Atlantic side, out to the point, and home along the warmer False Bay coast.
It covers the same headland as the Cape Point Tour but trades the gardens for the sea: a working harbour, a seal colony, a naval village and a swimming beach. If you have one day in Cape Town and you like being near water, take this one.

Hout Bay
A working fishing harbour tucked into a mountain bowl, with boats coming in, seals on the quay and the Sentinel standing over the bay.

Seal Island
A short boat trip out to the island, where hundreds of Cape fur seals haul out on the rocks. Boat tickets are booked on the day and quoted separately.

Cape Point
The nature reserve at the end of the peninsula, its lighthouse, and the cliffs falling away towards the Cape of Good Hope.

Simon’s Town
A Victorian naval village on False Bay — one handsome main street of balconied buildings between the mountain and the harbour.

Boulders Beach
The African penguin colony on the edge of town, seen from the boardwalks that run out over the dunes and the rocks.

Muizenberg
The row of painted Victorian bathing boxes on the beachfront, and the long, gentle surf break that made this the birthplace of South African surfing.
